At Montecito Assisted Living we understand the decision to place individuals into an assisted living community is an important one. We are here to answer all your questions and help you make the best decision possible.
Q: “What should I look for in an assisted living community?”
A: The environment as well as the programs and services are the most important aspects of an assisted living community. Depending on the functional and social needs of your family member, Montecito offers the amenities and services of many larger facilities, yet remains more personal. Is it close to relatives, community markets and health care centers? Is the environment pleasing and well cared for? We believe Montecito Assisted Living can be the perfect solution for most families in all regards especially for Orange County residents.
Q: “How do I know if Montecito Assisted Living is appropriate for my Mom or Dad?”
A: Our trained staff, with the input of your parent’s primary care physician will assess your family member to determine if assisted living is necessary and if our community is able to meet their individual needs. We will help the family with the transition from living in one’s own home to living with assistance at Montecito.
Q: “What happens if my family member needs hospitalization and/or some sort of rehabilitation?”
A: Our staff works closely with the best home health care agencies in the area. Upon doctor’s recommendations, the agency you choose, or one that we know and trust, will come to Montecito and conduct physical and occupational therapy in the comfort and privacy of your family member’s own “home”. This is often covered by the resident’s Medicare or HMO benefits.
Q: “Will my family member be able to age in place?”
A: The term “aging in place” is not uncommon to seasoned operators. We recognize the necessity for a flexible menu of programs and services that continue to be adjusted due to the changing needs of all residents. Our compassionate and professional staff is trained to adapt to these changing needs. Functional and cognitive needs assessments are done regularly to update the care plan for each of our residents.
